Being Smart with SMART

-taking roll/attendance
-continuous formative assessment for understanding
-ask questions on the fly
-when kids don't have clicker in hands, they know they dont' have to pay attentioin

How to avoid turning your back on students when at the board...& how to maintain engagement

To erase or not to erase: (don't turn your back to erase & waste valuable seconds or allow disengagement)
simply just add a blank page
at end of class, convert handwriting to text & save
OR use the Clear ink icon--not a default on the toolbar

Pin it! (if you don't pin it, it will default to the smart page browser) then save file
If you use dual page...you can drag items from web browser to new page

recording begins when pen hits the board; stop recording
play/pause for discussion...for playback
